The Sox have called Jacoby Ellsbury up from Pawtucket to play in tonight's game. He'll play center field and bat 9th. This is exciting! Let's see what the kid can do.
[editor's note, by Randy Booth] Just wanted to chime in on this subject, a day after his first start, but still relevant: why do this now? I understand Coco is hurt and Pena is a horrible outfielder, but why rush Ellsbury? We're the best team in MLB and don't need him at the big league level yet. The Sox FO is excited to see what he can do, but I just don't want to see him break mentally like other too-early-of-callups: Meredith, Hansen, etc.
