Brings out the brooms, the Sox are looking for a sweep. It'll be a hard task, though, because the Sox go up against Roy Halladay who is 4-1 with a 3.59 ERA on the season. Luckily for us, Halladay isn't facing Julian Tavarez again (we've seen that match-up two times already). Tim Wakefield looks to lower his stellar 2.11 ERA against a tough Jays lineup. Here's what the lineups look like:
Red Sox-- Tim Wakefield SP (3-3, 2.11)
- Julio Lugo, SS
- Kevin Youkilis, 1B
- David Ortiz, DH
- Manny Ramirez, LF
- J.D. Drew, RF
- Mike Lowell, 3B
- Coco Crisp, CF
- Doug Mirabelli, C
- Alex Cora, 2B
Blue Jays
-- Roy Halladay SP (4-1, 3.59)
- Alex Rios, RF
- Adam Lind, LF
- Vernon Wells, CF
- Frank Thomas, DH
- Troy Glaus, 3B
- Lyle Overbay, 1B
- Aaron Hill, 2B
- Sal Fasano, C
- John McDonald, SS
Baseball Notes:
- Toronto closer BJ Ryan underwent Tommy John Surgery. To put it simply, the Jays are screwed in the bullpen.
- Dustin Pedroia sits even though he's on a huge hot streak. I'm not really happy about the move to sit him after three great games, but I'm sure Alex Cora will step up. I just don't want Pedroia to lose his streak.
