Filed under: Top Prospects: We're at #5!

The Top Prospects list is updated. Here's where we stand:

  1. Ellsbury, Jacoby
  2. Buchholz, Clay
  3. Lowrie, Jed
  4. Masterson, Justin

In our last vote, there were two players bumped from contention - Michael Bowden and Lars Anderson. So that means they're both in the running for No. 5, 6, 7 and 8.

We've got some new names that we're tossing into the discussion. Ryan Kalish (think Trot Nixon) is an outfielder who smacked around the New York Penn League last season. He has risen fast up the ranks in just one season.

Also, Allen and I think Nick Hagadone deserves some recognition in this category. Hagadone, a 2007 1st round draft pick, is a 6'5" lefty with a mid-90s fastball. I could see Hagadone rising the system pretty fast. He was a starter at Lowell, but could convert to the bullpen.

I'll also include an "Other" option in the poll. If you choose to vote "Other," please leave a comment for WHO you would vote for. Click "Entry Link" for the poll or see the right sidebar.
