OTM.com's Top Prospects List -- Time to Update!

As you may or may not have noticed, Over The Monster's top 20 prospects list on the left sidebar has been cleared out in preparation for a new season.

It's going to be a little different this year, though. Last year, I just ranked 'em how I saw 'em. This year, Allen and I debated and thought we should include the entire community for the rankings. Makes sense considering the only reason this blog runs is because you folks, right? Right.

This is going to be a process that is drawn out a little bit. We're not just going to ask you to post your top 20 prospects and then we average them out or whatever. We're going to go step-by-step to and find a general consensus that works for everyone. Shall we begin?

WHO EARNS THE TOP SPOT: BUCHHOLZ OR ELLSBURY?

Lets start out at the top of the list. Who's number one? I think it's easy to see that we only have two options: Jacoby Ellsbury and Clay Buchholz. If you think anyone else should be considered at the No. 1 spot, please leave, Yankee troll.

Do I need to lay the stats down on everyone? I don't think so. We've seen enough of both of them to make an intelligent decision here. Buchholz could be a top of the rotation starter. Ellsbury could be a phenomenal leadoff man.

There is a poll attached to this post. Click "Entry Link" to vote in the poll. After a certain number of responses, we'll figure out who claims to be the No. 1 prospect in the Boston farm system.

We plan to do something along these lines for positions 3-20 as well. If anyone has any suggestions to make this a little better, feel free to e-mail me.
