ALCS Game Two: Pre-Game Question

New, 10 comments

Just a quick question regarding tonight's game before I put up lineups and pitchers and all that good stuff. I'd like some input from the OTM readers:

Should the Sox consider giving Jacoby Ellsbury the start tonight for Coco Crisp or JD Drew? Ellsbury is a spark plug in the lineup, for sure, so if he can get on first, he may be able to get to third in two pitches. In a game where the Sox may not get many opportunities, it's something to think about.

Obviously, Ellsbury is fast, but for him to replace Crisp in the lineup means it wouldn't be a big boost in speed. That's why I threw Drew's name out there. Then again, Drew has more power and had a good days rest yesterday.
