Question of the Day, 19 January 2007.

  • 2005: A young Cleveland Indians team exceeds expectations and nearly overtakes the Chicago White Sox for a playoff spot, bringing the race down to the final series of the season.
  • 2006: The Detroit Tigers, despite having had losing seasons for as long as anyone could remember, hit the jackpot with some low-key pickups and a matured but still young pitching staff. They make it all the way to the World Series, where they lose to the St. Louis Cardinals.
All right guys. Based on the moves made this off-season, and your own gut instincts, which team is ideally placed to "surprise" and contend in 2007 (AL and/or NL)?
