Kirby Puckett passed away tonight at the age of 45.
Puckett suffered a stroke on Sunday, and died this evening in Arizona. He was a beloved member of the 1987 and 1991 Twins World Series teams, and a franchise player for Minnesota throughout his career. Puckett was a 10-time all-star, a 2-time MVP, 6-time Gold Glover, 6-time Silver Slugger, and won the batting title in 1989. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2001.
Much more will be available on this story as it unfolds.
For tonight, fly your baseball flags at half-mast. Thanks for the memories Kirby.
