The newest Red Sox Alex Gonzalez showed his bat yesterday in a game versus the Dominican Republic. Gonzalez went 4-for-4 with three RBIs, two walks and a run in a 5-4 loss.
This is a good sign. If Gonzalez and Cora continue to hit the ball well for their respective teams, we could have quite the duel for the shortstop position come spring training. Toss Dustin Pedroia into that mix, and we could have the hottest position to watch in March.
