News and Notes
Trot Nixon went 1-2 with a walk and a strikeout in his first rehab game for the Paw Sox. He said that his oblique felt fine and if everything goes according to plan in the game he's playing in today, he'll be playing with Boston by tomorrow against Kansas City. He'll likely take the place of Lenny Dinardo in Boston.
Alejandro Machado missed his second straight game. There's no word on if he's suffering from any type of injury, but the newly acquired Tony Schrager has been playing at short for the last couple of games. Schrager, 27 years old and a member of the 2004 Paw Sox, was acquired in the deal that sent Jose Cruz Jr packing.
The game in Portland went 15 innings before Alberto Concepcion hit a solo shot to lead off the top of the 15 to finally put the Sea Dogs ahead. Portland got 10 innings form their bullpen who only allowed 1 run.
