News and Notes
After losing 3 out of 4 to Rochester, Pawtucket dropped another one last night and they are struggling lately with only 1 win in their last 5 tries. They're only 5 games out of the lead for their division, but they are tied for last place and are below .500. If they plan on making a move for a playoff spot, they need to do so really soon and they can't afford to continue their losing ways.

The Portland aces struggled this time around the rotation. Two days ago Jon Lester was hit for 4 runs in 4.2 IP. He only managed to strike out 3 and he walked 4. Anibal Sanchez did just as bad yesterday allowing 4 runs in 6.1 IP. The worst part about his outing was the fact that he walked 5 batters. He took the loss and Portland didn't provide him with any run support.
