Open Thread: 8/14/05 vs CHC

Who would have thought that going into game three we would have beaten both Jon Garland and Mark Buehrle and be on the verge of the sweep? Not many people, but that's what we are doing today.

Matt Clement (11-3, 4.53) is pitching for Boston today at the 2:05 eastern start time. And Orlando Hernandez (8-5, 4.67) gets the call for the White Sox as they try to win at least one game in this series.

8/13 Notables:

  • Roberto Petagine hit his first home run since 1998. He finished the game going 2-for-4 with 2 runs batted in.
  • David Ortiz and Tony Graffanino both went 3-for-4 on the night, with Graffanino earning an RBI. Ortiz's average is back up over .300 at .301, while Graffanino has a nifty .314 average, and .358 average since coming to Boston.
  • Mike Remlinger pitched again ... and it was still bad. He didn't get an out, and allowed a run before leaving the game. I see Remlinger being DFA'd in about a week or so.
