News and Notes
Pawtucket had yesterday off as they traveled to Scranton for a 2 game series starting today. They'll then head to Rochester for 4 games.

Portland completed a four game sweep of New Britain with a 7-6 win yesterday. The team knocked 17 hits, but scored only 7 times, 5 of those runs coming in the first inning. Only 4 of those hits went for extra bases with no home runs and they walked only twice. The 17 hits, however, were a good sign for the team's offense. They were battering around the Rock Cats' pitchers all night. Six Portland starters had at least 2 hits and only Brandon Moss went hitless.

30 year old minor league journey man, Jim Mann earned his 8th save for the Sea Dogs. He's been very solid for Portland so far this year with a 1.13 ERA in 16 IP. He's struck out 20 and walked 8 giving Portland their most reliable closer since Cla Meredith's promotion.

Jacob Ellsbury returned to the line up last night and while he didn't get a hit, he did walk and knock in a run with a sacrifice fly. He led off and played DH.
