Wade Miller, who was scheduled to start today, has been a late scratch from the game. According to Terry Francona, they knew Miller wouldn't start since the Tampa Bay series, but never made an announcement by accident. The reason Miller has been scratched is because he has 'shoulder stiffness' despite having a great outing last time out.
In his place Bronson Arroyo (8-6, 4.26 ERA) will start on normal rest because of yesterday's off day. For the Twins it is Carlos Silva (7-4, 3.37 ERA) who has had a great season to date.
Here's the Sox lineup for tonight's game:
J. Damon cf
E. Renteria ss
D. Ortiz dh
M. Ramirez lf
J. Olerud 1b
K. Millar rf
J. Varitek c
B. Mueller 3b
T. Graffanino 2b
Graffanino gets another start, while Olerud hits in Trot Nixon's usual five-hole. Interesting because Olerud hasn't been hitting well this season, and he's 2-for-10 lifetime against Silva.
