As Brian mentioned earlier, Manny Delcarmen was promoted to Boston today, designated John Halama for assignment. Interesting move considering they have Devil Rays reject Jeremi Gonzalez also in the bullpen, and Halama is the one to start the season on the roster, not Gonzalez.
Matt Clement faces off against Mark Hendrickson today. Manny Ramirez gave Clement a nice little lead in the first inning thanks to a two-run home run. Manny seems to be in the groove now, so we are lucky. Terry Francona sends out an interesting lineup tonight with David Ortiz on the bench with Doug Mirabelli as the DH and hitting third.
