The Sox earned a much needed win last night against young Daniel Cabrera who just couldn't contain the Sox, as they won, 5-1.
Johnny Damon left the game after hitting his head against the steel mesh on the bullpen wall. Terry Francona has been saying how he wanted to give Damon a night off, but I'm sure it wasn't like that. Maybe Damon will get another night off tonight to recover.
Tonight Tim Wakefield (4-4, 4.48 ERA) is on the mound versus Sidney Ponson (5-3, 5.66). Both these pitchers have been struggling as of late, as both have given up atleast four runs in their last three starts.
Kevin Millar will probably get the start tonight, as he is a career .357 hitter off of Ponson. Olerud, on the other hand, is hitting .211 leftime verus Ponson.
Let's rally around the Sox because the win last night put us just three back behind the O's for first place in the AL East. Another win will put us two games back.
