I am a journalism major at Keene State College in New Hampshire. I am not only a die hard Sox fan, but a fan of the greatest American past time (even though my screen name represents the other great New England sports team). I played ball competitively up until high school, but now I enjoy playing softball and wiffle ball.
My favorite Sox player right now would have to be none other than the Greek-God-of-Walks himself, Kevin Youkilis. Youks is the man for a number of reasons. He is nasty at defense, he gets epically pissed off at the stupidest stuff, and he rocks the ugliest beard in the history of facial hair, but obviously doesn't give a f*** what others think about it.
As far as all time Sox players go, that would be a tough one. Brian Daubach stands out to me, as he was one of my favorites growing up in the early part of the century when I started understanding the game more. Although I never got to see him play, Carlton Fisk is another candidate, being born in my home state of Vermont (I believe there's a sign in Bellows Falls that reads "Welcome to Bellows Falls: The birthplace of Carlton Fisk"). Small New England towns definitely have their priorities straight.
