Gordon Edes is saying Sox star pitching prospect Clay Buchholz has been promoted to Pawtucket.

Buchholz was 7-2 with a 1.77 ERA in 15 games started this season. He had 116 strikeouts in 86.2 innings pitched with just 22 walks.

Time to see what Mr. Buchholz is made of. He showed some great stuff in Portland (especially when I saw him the other day) but it should be a better test for him in Pawtucket. We should definitely see this young star in Boston come September. His progress over the next three months will be interesting; will he be ready for Boston in April? Or will he need more seasoning? We should be able to tell by then.
