I used to not give a rats ass about Seattle, but you guys are so classy I might have to change my opinion.  On second thought, I still could care less about you guys.

Funny I never would even think to post trash talk on a mariner blog,  nor would I spend the time trying to find some blog to post on!

Neither would I.  There used to be a few MFY fans that would post here last year.

There are still a few every once in a while. Right now, there's one particularly obnoxious troll on Pats Pulpit, too.

Classy bunch. You have to wonder why such wonderful fans can't singlehandedly lift their teams' performances.

Sorry for the trolls.
We're not all like that, I swear.  I was at the game tonight, total blast, and a total playoff atmosphere.  Playing you guys is fun, win or lose--of course the wins are better, though. :)

Felix had plenty tonight, he just pitches like an idiot.  His fastball is his worst pitch, but he is young and immature so he tries to overpower everyone...he's done that since he's come back from injury--he's afraid to throw his other stuff.  It's really frustrating as a Mariner fan.

Re: Sorry for the trolls.
Thanks Bretticus...trolls can be amusing sometimes, but I prefer acutal baseball analysis to shit talking.  Mariner's seem to have their pitching staff in order this year.  Good luck.
To bad you didn't get to see Schilling pitch.
I was in Seattle when that M's went to the playoffs in the 90's...I've NEVER heard a town celebrate so loud.  Awsome.  I moved to NYC and you never heard anything when the Yanks won it all.  Nothing...no car horns, no street parties.  It was like nothing had happened at all.  They need a decade of losing, I think, to get back into the spirit of things.

Re: Sorry for the trolls.
Our pitching staff is all right.  Batista's getting better and he has pitched much better than his ERA indicates.  Weaver I don't know what to think of.  He's still an awful pitcher in my mind, but he's done okay lately.  Felix is pitching stupid, Washburn is Mediocre, and Feierabend is probably a bit better than Washburn.  That's not what's exciting though.

What's exciting is our killer Bullpen--if we lead after 6 innings, we basically win, it's that solid.   No two better relievers in baseball than Sherrill and Putz.  (Though Okajima and Papelbon are right up there...I still persist that Putz is the most incredible reliever in baseball though.)

Also exciting is our worst regular hitter, Yuniesky Betancourt has a 92 OPS+ and a near .300 average.  It's just that he has no patience.  I'm jealous of your lineup for it's patience.  But our team's strength is no easy out among regulars, and it's bullpen.  If the defense and starters could catch up, screw the wild card, we'll take the west.

Well, I've enjoyed this series and unless I feel it necessary to do some damage control for Seattle trolls, this'll probably the last I'll see of you.  Though I'll admit, I did no damage control at the Safe tonight--I just booed and gave your fans shit.  Haha.

Re: Sorry for the trolls.
The patience thing - that is both sought out (Youklis) and stressed by the hitting coaches...walks being as good as hits and OBP being more important than HP statistically, I think, when it comes to winning games.  I totally agree about the closers and bull pen.  You can get enough SP talent in this league to get 6 innings of winning pitching on a regular basis.  It's those times that potent offenses like the Yankess or Rockies (I can't believe I just typed that!) have that will kill your bullpen and ruin a good outing by a starting pitcher if they get the chance.  It would be interesting to see how many games this year were clinched by the winning team in the last 3 to four innings as opposed to just leading throughout. Cheers ~ Bcap
