He is. Whether you believe the ESPN radar gun or not, he's throwing smoke coupled with a low-90s slider plus a nasty breaking ball in the mid-high 80s.

Not sure how good an analyst Hershiser is. Comparing Hernandez to someone on the Sox? There is no one, but I think Beckett comes closer than Papelbon does.

His breaking stuff is unbelievable. He has a very good change, and he can throw heat.

Matsuzaka has been good, not great. Thank God I'm not watching on ESPN.

They (ESPN) haven't been horrible. but as good as I expect our young pitchers to be, Hernandez is putting on a clinic.

The difference between Matsuzaka tonight and his last outing is the command of his breaking pitches. I didn't see the KC game so I'll take Remy's word for it.

You can take my word for it too, if you want. His FB command has been there for the most part in both games. He's been missing badly with his breaking stuff.

7 innings, 100+, only 3 runs. Didn't have a handle on his breaking stuff. He's no Felix, but he didn't really "earn" the loss if he gets one.

Hernandez now no-hit through 7 on 85 pitches.

Unless there's some significant opposition from the powers that be, I'm giving the Mueller to Felix. Nothing to do but tip your cap to a performance like that. Awesome (and as a Sox fan) heart-wrenching to watch.
