More downtime for Timlin

Extra Bases:

Dr. Thomas Gill examined Mike Timlin today and determined Timlin's left oblique was still tender and has pushed back the day when Timlin can resume throwing by two days.

Timlin was supposed to begin throwing again tomorrow after suffering a setback. He was shut down for a week, but Gill determined there was still some tenderness.

And down goes Timlin ... again. I have a feeling this is going to be an on-going problem. He'll pitch, complain about soreness, sit out two weeks, repeat.

I think it's safe to say Timlin isn't going to be the Red Sox closer come opening day in Kansas City.
