Mariners part ways with Vidro

Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - The Seattle Mariners released Jose Vidro on Wednesday.

The decision came after they designated the designated hitter for assignment back on August 5.

The 33-year-old batted .234 with 11 doubles, seven home runs and 45 RBI in 85 games this season. Acquired prior to the 2007 season from the Nationals, Vidro combined to hit .285 with 13 homers and 104 RBI in 232 games as a Mariner.
