White Sox agree to terms with first-round pick

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms with infielder Gordon Beckham on a minor league contract.
Beckham was the club's first-round pick and the eighth overall selection of the 2008 draft.
The University of Georgia product hit .411 with 28 homers and 77 runs batted in this past season. He helped the Bulldogs to the finals of the College World Series, and was 7-for-12 with a pair of homers in the three-game loss to Fresno State.
Beckham will report to Single-A Kannapolis on Thursday.
