AL Cy Young Votes
Someone voted for David Robertson, even ahead of Rivera. A strange vote or a modern perspective?
Gonzalez Starting in RF
According to Reports, Adrian Gonzalez will start in RF today and David Ortiz at 1B.
Red Sox in Pittsburgh June 24
I just made flight and hotel reservations for Pittsburgh in June; anybody else making the trip? Flights pretty reasonable, hotels on the expensive side (for Pittsburgh!), tickets DIRT cheap. Had a Pirates season ticket holder talking about EXPENSIVE $40 SEATS!
Random Baseball Thread
OK Nothing is going on so I decided to have a random baseball disscussion thread!
Rays-Sox Marathon Day Thread
I have to go back to class in a couple minutes, but here's a thread. (please disregard if thread is already posted)
Interleague Play
Go SOX. Two luxury suite tickets to the June 26 SF Giants vs. Red Sox. www.wfnbayarea.com to register.
Free Yahoo Keeper League
I'm looking for fantasy managers who are committed to the idea of a competitive and highly involved league. It's a 12-team, mixed, rotisserie league without undroppable players (as commish I will not let someone drop a top-tier fantasy player without good cause - i.e. season ending injury). Players become free agents in the league as soon as Yahoo adds them to their database and they have gone through the waivers process. This first year will be free, but if you wish to remain playing (keeping your team), then next year you will have to pay a nominal fee (probably $25). If this sounds interesting, please email me at panamaine10@yahoo.com.
Lowrie?
When he's off the DL, will the starting job be Jed Lowrie's? I thought I heard last week on NESN that was the speculation, but can't find that anywhere in writing. Makes sense to me given I don't think much of Lugo or Green, but just wondering what the plan was with him once he's activated- or will Tito just play it by ear?
Tigers -vs- Redsox 4/9/2008-Question to anyone who might have a video copy of the game.
I was in the stands at the game, when Marcus Thames of the Tigers hit a homer, I think in the 4th, that hit the wall and landed in a Redsox fans lap. He was disgusted and threw the ball back into play. It landed near Manny who picked it up and threw it into the stands. I stood up and barehanded it ( without spilling my beer I might add) and supposedly I was caught on the jumbotron and on ESPN. My son is a huge Manny fan ( if he had not touched it last I would be throwing it back also) so I wanted to get a copy of the throw/catch and make a still pic to go with the ball for my son ( and to prove it to a few hat think I'm full of BS). Does anybody have that game on film?? I would pay to get a copy. I have tried ESPN, Tigers, Sox and Fox sports all have said they cant/wont release any footage. Anybody have any thoughts for a 11 year old fan who thinks his old man is the bomb for catching a Manny ball.
