Welcome back to the season preview superlative series. If this is your first time seeing this, we’ve done three installments before this and this particular entry represents the halfway point in the series. We’ve already covered the Team MVP, Biggest Disappointment and Best Pitcher. In this entry, we’ll be trying to figure out who the unsung hero will be for the Red Sox in 2017.
Now, this is inherently difficult to predict. I’ll acknowledge that. Still, we know which types of players are undervalued on this team. We’ve seen it in recent years with players who rely heavily on their defense, like Shane Victorino in 2013. We also saw it in that same year with platoon players like Daniel Nava. You can’t win without at least a couple of players performing like stars, but to take that next step you need some players closer to the periphery of the roster to step up as well. You can vote for who you think that will be by voting below. If someone you think should be included doesn’t get a mention here, let me know and I’ll add them as soon as possible.
