Jackie Bradley Jr. is in right field and Rusney Castillo in left as the Red Sox try to both figure out their best alignment and take a series from the Yankees Wednesday afternoon in Fenway.
Whatever the layout of Boston's outfielders, Henry Owens will be happy to have all three behind him as he takes the mound looking to build on an up-and-down start against the Mets. It's been kind of rough watching Owens on the mound at times, as his erratic nature has led to some frustrating innings and one outright disaster game, but the bad has certainly come with the good, as Owens has proven capable of missing MLB-quality bats, and actually holds a respectable ERA through his first five outings despite the one train wreck.
The Yankees, at least, will be a familiar opponent. They were the first team he faced, allowing three runs in five innings in a start that was, frankly, better than those numbers would show, with Owens only surrendering the one run before giving up a pair of leadoff hits in the sixth, with the bullpen coming in behind him and letting the game get completely out of hand. Hopefully he'll pitch just as well, but also get the results to back it up.
First pitch is at 4:05 p.m. ET with broadcasts on NESN, WEEI, and the MLB Network.
