Pawtucket W 3-2
Jackie Bradley Jr.: 2-4, HR
Travis Shaw: 0-2, 2 BB
Garin Cecchini: 1-4, 2B, 2 K
Deven Marrero: 0-4
Blake Swihart: 0-3, K
Henry Owens: 8 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, 1 HR
Alright, that's better, Jackie Bradley Jr. Sure, the Red Sox just signed a long-term center field replacement, but...I forget where I was going with this.
On a more completely positive note, Henry Owens bounces back from a couple of four-run outings in fine fashion. Worth mentioning that while he has 10 runs in these last 19 innings, he also has 18 strikeouts to three walks, and even the 19 hits aren't so bad as all that.
Portland W 1-0
Sean Coyle: 0-3, BB, 2 K
Keury De La Cruz: 0-2, 2 BB
Eduardo Rodriguez: 7 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 5 K
Eduardo Rodriguez' time with the Red Sox just gets more and more ridiculous. 24 innings of two-run ball with 28 strikeouts, eighteen hits, and six walks? Yes, please.
Salem W 2-1
Carlos Asuaje: 1-4
Manuel Margot: 0-2, SB
Simon Mercedes: 6.1 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 3 K
Manuel Margot didn't get a hit, or draw a walk, but he did get hit so the on-base streak remains alive one way or another!
Greenville L 0-12
Cole Sturgeon: 0-2, BB, E
Wendell Rijo: 1-3, BB, K, E
Sam Travis: 0-3, BB
Danny Mars: 2-4
Ty Buttrey: 4 IP, 7 H, 8 R, 5 ER, 6 BB, 1 K, 1 HR
Are we at the point where we just stop paying attention to Ty Buttrey until he gives us a reason to do otherwise? Please tell me we're there.
GCL Red Sox W 8-3
Michael Chavis: 2-4, 2B, 3B, BB
Luis Alexander Basabe: 3-4, BB
Josh Ockimey: 0-4, BB
Trenton Kemp: 1-3, BB
Jake Cosart: 3 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K
After missing out on a brief stretch of games, Michael Chavis seems to have shaken off whatever rust accrued quite nicely. His excellent August continues apace.
