Pawtucket W 7-3
Mookie Betts: 0-2, 2 BB
Travis Shaw: 2-4, 2B, K
Garin Cecchini: 1-3, HR, BB, K
Alex Hassan: 1-4, 2B, 3 K
Christian Vazquez: 0-4, 2 K
Matt Barnes: 5.2 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K, 1 HR
So I was hoping to mention some positives about Garin Cecchini in light of his rare homer (third on the season), but it's just not there this season. The best I've got is that he's 5-for-17 in his last four games which is...fine...but not what you're looking for when you're really highlighting a "hot streak." Maybe this gets it started? We can only hope.
Portland W 9-4
Deven Marrero: 2-3, BB
Blake Swihart: 2-4
Sean Coyle: 3-4, 2B, BB
Keury De La Cruz: 1-4, CS
Henry Owens: 6 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, 2 HR
Noe Ramirez: 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
Portland box scores are just filled with crooked numbers these days. Unfortunately, some of those are next to Henry Owens' name, though this may have just been to fool the competition into believing he's mortal after allowing just two runs in his previous 44 innings.
Greenville L 4-9
Forrestt Allday: 0-5, 2 K
Tzu-Wei Lin: 0-4, 2 K
Wendell Rijo: 2-4, 2B, 2 K
Manuel Margot: 1-4
Trey Ball: 3.2 IP, 10 H, 6 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 4 K
It feels like every other day is a Trey Ball start. And I don't mean that positively.
Lowell W 3-0
Nick Longhi: 2-3, BB
Sam Travis: 1-4
GCL Red Sox L 0-9
Trenton Kemp: 0-3, BB, K
As a late-round pick signed to a pretty big bonus with some good upside, Trenton Kemp is a rare breed these days. Worth keeping an eye on.
DSL Red Sox L 6-7
Luis Alejandro Basabe: 1-5, BB, 2 K, SB
Rafael Devers: 1-5, 3 K
