Alright, Buchholz, now we're talking. Sort of. It's not quite as good as it looks when you mix in a few lucky outs and a hit batter, but it is certainly improvement over what we've seen most of the year. Lots of ground balls, to boot.

An awful pitching pandemic is running through the lower minors since Brian Johnson left. Only a few actual prospects seem unaffected by it, and while there's something to be said for Boston having plenty of "project" arms, there's also something to be said for seeing progress from at least some of them at some point.
Oh well, we'll always have Justin Haley. Until he gets promoted. Or stops pitching well. Then, truly, all hope will be lost.

Rafael Devers: 2-4
Looks like Rafael Devers is GCL-bound:
The Red Sox are promoting 17-year-old third baseman Rafael Devers to the GCL this weekend. He's been a DSL monster http://t.co/DAXxUog91E

It's not terribly surprising, but it is exciting all the same. This quick bump for the 17-year-old Devers makes it that much more likely we'll get a chance to see him in Greenville in 2015.
