Game 71: Red Sox vs. Twins

Loading Scores

So Phil Hughes is apparently a thing now. Through 82 innings, at least, he's looked like the pitcher the Yankees once expected him to be. Better, even.

He's not with the Yankees anymore, and that combined with the whole "pitching well against everyone" thing should make losing to him a lot less galling than it once would have been.

And yet...Six innings, five hits, one run, and eight strikeouts. That performance in a 4-3 loss back in May still stands out as one of the more...annoying games of this annoying season. To make a long story short, I'd prefer an entirely different result tonight. More so than in just any other game against any other pitcher.

Then again, given recent results from the offense, just scoring three might be a victory in and of itself.

Still I hope.
