Are nines supposed to be lucky? I don't know. Three threes is kind of a thing, right? Maybe?
If I'm grasping at straws here, it's because I'm kind of desperate. I didn't think I could take their fourth straight loss when attempting to reach .500. Now we've seen twice that. There's only so much more a fan can take. Only so much.
That being said...well, let's leave it at Mike Leake being very good. Concerningly so. Jake Peavy has been getting by on some iffy peripherals so far, too, so it's just got the feeling of one of those games that's a lot less favorable in reality than it might seem at first glance.
I hope I'm wrong.
