Red Sox minor lines: Brian Johnson's new look

It's the most important news of the year for Boston's farm system: Brian Johnson has a new, less terrifying picture.

Pawtucket L 9-10

Ryan Roberts: 1-4, BB
Garin Cecchini: 1-5, K, E
Alex Hassan: 1-4, K
Dan Butler: 2-4, 2 2B

Allen Webster: 5 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 1 HR
Drake Britton: 1.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 0 K

Pawtucket W 3-2

Ryan Roberts: 1-4, HR
Garin Cecchini: 1-4
Alex Hassan: 1-4
Travis Shaw: 1-3
Christian Vazquez: 1-3, 2 K

Anthony Ranaudo: 6.2 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 4 K
Rich Hill: 2.1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 2 K

Well, this is not the best of times for Webster to come up with a bad start given that the Red Sox might finally be willing to pull the trigger on a Clay Buchholz DL move. Still, compared to what Buchholz has given the Sox lately, Webster might still look like Pedro.

Portland L 0-1

Mookie Betts: 1-3, BB, SB
Deven Marrero: 0-4, K
Travis Shaw: 0-4, K
Sean Coyle: 2-4, K

Brian Johnson: 7 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K

Portland W 6-3

Mookie Betts: 1-4, BB
Deven Marrero: 0-5, 2 K
Blake Swihart: 2-4, HR
Henry Ramos: 0-4, 2 K

Keith Couch: 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K

OK so Brian Johnson was pretty good. But more important than anything his creepy old picture is gone! Rejoice in the fact that Johnson is not inherently creepy and/or evil, but just took a bad picture that one time.

Salem W 13-4

Justin Haley: 5.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 6 K

Justin Haley is still in a piggyback starter role, just a very weird one, picking up the last 16 outs of the game rather than the first. He's now made starter-length appearances in three straight games.

Greenville L 5-7

Forrestt Allday: 0-4, BB, 2 K
Stephen Drew: 1-3, 2B, K
Wendell Rijo: 0-3, BB, SB
Manuel Margot: 1-3, BB, SB

Jamie Callahan: 5 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 1 HR

Greenville W 11-3

Forrestt Allday: 1-5
Tzu-Wei Lin: 2-4, BB, K, SB
Stephen Drew: 1-3, 2B, BB, 2 K
Wendell Rijo: 1-5, 2 K

Teddy Stankiewicz: 4 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 2 K

Greenville does not lack for struggling pitchers, that's for damn sure. Stankiewicz really hasn't gotten off the ground thus far this year, but he's still doing better than Callahan, who has just completely crashed and burned. He was always a project, and a very young one at that, but it would be nice to start seeing some progress at some point.
