Now that we're done losing to a team that can't seem to win games, we get to lose to a team that tends to win them! Lucky us!

If you think I'm being too pessimistic, well, I hope you're right. Buy Clay Buchholz is on the mound, and if you think that his seven innings and three earned runs last time out were encouraging, then you're either being super lenient given what he's shown before, or just weren't watching the game. He hasn't given much reason to hope that today is the day where he figures it out.

What hope there is stems from the fact that, for as frustrating and disappointing as they've been, the 2014 Red Sox haven't really let themselves be completely buried at any point this season. But maybe they just haven't come up against a team like the A's at the wrong time yet.

We'll see...
