After the loss tonight the Red Sox fall to 20-21, one game under five hundred after finally bringing their record over .500 just earlier this week. The offense was no where to be found for the Sox tonight as Max Scherzer was dominant even after returning from a rain delay that lasted roughly 45 minutes. Scherzer saw his record improve to 6-1 while having posted a total of 73 strikeouts so far this season, making the 6 year $144 million dollar deal he rejected earlier this year look like a smarter move every day. The only run of the game came on a first inning single by Torii Hunter that plated Ian Kinsler who came to Detroit this past offseason in the Prince Fielder blockbuster with Texas. Game time is set for 7:10 tomorrow night as Rick Porcello (6-1, 3.32 ERA) is set to square off against John Lackey (5-2, 3.57 ERA) as the Red Sox look to pull back to .500 on the season.
