Red Sox minor lines: Do not look directly at the Salem Red Sox

It's all fun and games in the minor leagues until you remember the Red Sox have a High-A team.

Pawtucket L 4-7

Ryan Roberts: 1-3, 2B, 2 BB, K
Alex Hassan: 1-4, K, CS
Daniel Nava: 1-3, K
Ryan Lavarnway: 0-2, 2 BB
Bryce Brentz: 1-4, HR, K
Dan Butler: 1-3, BB

Anthony Ranaudo: 6 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K
Alex Wilson: 0.2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 0 K

Pawtucket W 3-2

Ryan Roberts: 0-4, K
Daniel Nava: 1-4, K
Bryce Brentz: 2-3, BB
Christian Vazquez: 2-4, K
Garin Cecchini: 1-4, CS
Dan Butler: 1-4, K

Matt Barnes: 7 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K
Rich Hill: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
Drake Britton: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K

Anthony Ranaudo has now allowed at least as many walks as he has recorded strikeouts in three of his last four games. It's worth remembering he's still relatively new to Triple-A, but he's certainly not made a smooth transition.

Portland L 5-6

Deven Marrero: 1-5, 2B, K
Travis Shaw: 0-4, K
Blake Swihart: 1-4, 2B, K
Henry Ramos: 1-4, SB

Keith Couch: 5.2 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 7 K

Portland W 13-12

Mookie Betts: 2-4, 2 BB
Deven Marrero: 3-4, 2B, 2 BB, SB
Travis Shaw: 2-4, HR, 2 BB, SB
Henry Ramos: 3-6, 2B, K

Blake Swihart's hitting seems to have slowed down. He's still got a .290 batting average, but it's been coming down for the last couple weeks now. Hopefully with his hot streak over, Swihart will start drawing walks like he did in 2013. Frankly, he needs them.

Salem L 3-11

Corey Littrell: 2.2 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 6 BB, 0 K, 1 HR

Salem L 5-7

Pat light: 5 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 1 K
Justin Haley: 3.1 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K

Out of morbid curiosity, let's total that all up...

Salem pitchers: 11 IP, 15 H, 11 R, 9 ER, 12 BB, 4 K, 1 HR

Let's never speak of this again.

Greenville W 6-5

Forrestt Allday: 0-4
Tzu-Wei Lin: 1-4, 2 K

Jamie Callahan: 5 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 4 K

Greenville W 9-6

Tzu-Wei Lin: 0-2, 3 BB
Forrestt Allday: 3-3, 2 2B
Wendell Rijo: 0-5, 2 K, CS
Manuel Margot: 0-4, BB

Teddy Stankiewicz: 5 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K

I missed the late debut of Forrestt Allday on Friday. Frankly, it's not encouraging that the Red Sox are starting the 23-year-old down in Greenville. He's got to get moving through the ranks in a hurry; it's going to be difficult to take his results too seriously until he's up against something closer to age-appropriate competition.
