Mookie Betts is coming off of arguably the best Minor League performance for the Red Sox in 2013. He hit .314 with 38 SB and 15 HR. It is looking like he will become a solid MLB player. The only issue is with what team? Dustin Pedroia has second base locked up for the next 7 years, Bogaerts will certainly take over shortstop, and its looking like Cecchini will eventually become the third basemen. I wonder if there is anyway that Betts could move to the outfield and become a utility player such as Ben Zobrist.
I understand that Betts has only played against A and A+ level, but he is showing some serious potential. I feel like Betts would bring some serious trade value and the Red Sox certainly have some holes they need to fill.
