Carp Continues Success

The 6'2'' 210 pound Long Beach native continues to take Red Sox Nation by surprise. In 136 at-bats this season Carp has 43 hits posting a .316 avg. What impresses me the most about Carp is his short compact approach at the plate and his ability to hit the ball to all fields. He loves homes games, hitting .349 at Fenway and also carries a solid average on the road. (.288) Hitting with runners in scoring position is also something that goes unnoticed with Carp. He is driving runs in when it matters most! Carp had a great April but struggled some in May hitting only .154. He picked up the slack in June and is off to a solid July!

Carp was a ninth round draft pick by the Mets in 2004. He made is major league debut on June 17, 2009. On February 20, 2013, Carp was acquired by Boston and made is debut on April 17th. Since his debut Carp has not looked back. He's the solid left-handed bat the Sox needed in the middle of the lineup!
