The Red Sox are not doing so hot of late, you may have noticed. The sweep in Texas is a big part of it, but it really needs to be mentioned that we are one Stephen Drew walkoff away from a five-game losing streak right now. In the grander scheme of all things baseball, this is not such a big deal, but it is the largest sign of vulnerability from a team that many expected to be quite vulnerable indeed this year.
If the Sox can rally and move past this, get back to winning for some extended period of time, the next (almost) losing streak can be brushed off with ease. Until that point, though, these early struggles are going to require a little bit of collar tugging and ill feelings.
So, to that end, let's have a good start from Allen Webster, a lot of hits from the lineup, and a big win to get back on track. Weather permitting, that is.
