Pawtucket L 4-8
Chris Hernandez: 5 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, 1 HR
Joel Hanrahan: 1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 1 HR
Hey there Joel, no rush now, y'hear?
Jeremy Hazelbaker's short night came due to a wrist injury.
Portland L 3-6
Matt Barnes: 4.2 IP, 11 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 2 BB, 6 K
Keith Couch: 2.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
So what's wrong with Matt Barnes? He's allowed fourteen earned runs in 14 innings of work, but it's come in spite of tons of ground ball outs and a 17:6 K:BB rate. This doesn't feel like the sort of thing that can keep happening long term, but it's perhaps at least in part an indication of inconsistency on the mound rather than just pure dumb luck.
Juan Carlos Linares' short night was also due to injury, so the Sox should probably get around to bubble wrapping Jackie Bradley Jr. and Bryce Bretnz sometime soon.
Salem L 3-6
A slower night from Sean Coyle, but Cecchini keeps on motoring, and Brandon Jacobs has spent these last ten games quietly starting to contribute.
Greenville L 3-10
Jose Vinicio: 1-5, 2 K
Cody Koback: 1-4, BB, K, E
Justin Haley: 3.2 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 1 K, 2 HR
Yunior Ortega: 3.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
