Yeah, there was the Lackey game, and that came with its fair share of trepidation. But I still wanted to watch that game.
Tonight, though, having this come on the back of last night's gut punch of a loss, well, I kind of just want to put my hands over my eyes and peek through my fingers, the way a child might watch a monster movie.
There's a chance, though. There's always a chance. Even the 2012 Red Sox won some games with awful pitchers on the mound. All it takes is a little luck, or a lot of hits. And so it is that we settle in to watch Alfredo Aceves start, whether with wide open eyes or by peeking through our fingers.
