By the time most people read this, Game 5 of the World Series will likely be over, and the situation may be changed, however, as it stands now, the Red Sox are 2-0 this series in games started by catcher David Ross, and 0-2 in games started by catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia.
Could there be something to that? Has Ross's play been notably better than Saltalamacchia's? Or even better at all? Has it been enough to make the difference in these close games? Has it been better game calling? Level-headedness?
Or is Ross benefitting from the fact that Lester is usually on the hill when he catches? Is he just "in the right place at the right time"?
What do you think? I'll put some poll options in here, but I'd love to hear your comments and analysis.
