Red Sox 3, Orioles 4: The East Is Tied

The Red Sox fell to the Orioles despite a strong start from Felix Doubront Saturday night. Of course, with the Yankees losing as well, that may just be cause to celebrate!

Game 158

Five to go...

We have confirmation of life on Jacoby Ellsbury, so all you conspiracy folks can drop the "returned to his home planet" talk.

We do not have confirmation on Felix Doubront's return to form. He's had some solid results of late, but it wasn't really until last time that he put it all together with a really impressive outing. Hopefully he keeps it up, and we can call it more than just a blip.

Friday Red Sox Lineup: Matt Wieters Out, Also A Father

The Red Sox won't have any Matt Wieters to deal with tonight, but the world has one more Wieters to deal with for the future. The Orioles' catcher will miss the game for all the right reasons as he attends to his wife and newborn son, Maverick Luther Wieters.

Man, that's...quite the name.

Anyways, that will leave Taylor Teagarden behind the plate and batting ninth, which is more interesting news than there is to be found for the Red Sox. Jacoby Ellsbury is still out and, I'd wager, likely done for the season given how little time is left. It's ugly, but that's just standard for the Sox these days.

Boston Red Sox (69-87)

  1. Scott Podsednik, CF
  2. Pedro Ciriaco, 3B
  3. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
  4. Cody Ross, RF
  5. James Loney, 1B
  6. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, DH
  7. Ryan Lavarnway, C
  8. Daniel Nava, LF
  9. Jose Iglesias, SS

Baltimore Orioles (89-67)

  1. Nate McLouth, LF
  2. J.J. Hardy, SS
  3. Chris Davis, RF
  4. Adam Jones, CF
  5. Jim Thome, DH
  6. Mark Reynolds, 1B
  7. Manny Machado, 3B
  8. Ryan Flaherty, 2B
  9. Taylor Teagarden, C
