Jacoby Ellsbury is out of the starting lineup once again with what Bobby Valentine is calling an injury "situation." Clearly it's not major, since this is the same situation that kept him out of the starting lineup yesterday and he was able to enter in the middle innings to put an end to the woeful Pedro Ciriaco in CF experiment, but it's still enough to give him the day off.
And that's all well-and-good, because if there's one game I've ever wanted to lose, this is it. I wish the Sox could field a team of recent and current malcontents and busts, just so the Fenway crowd would actively cheer for the Orioles. Lugo at short, Daisuke and Lackey splitting time on the mound, Nick Punto at second, Eric Gagne to close it out, Bobby Valentine to manage.
Wait a second...
Of course, the Orioles don't look too intimidating themselves, which is either fortunate or not depending on how on board you are with the whole anti-Yankee schadenfreude thing.
