Should the Red Sox chase someone like Chris Young this off-season? (Mandatory Credit: Gary A. Vasquez-US PRESSWIRE)
The 2012 Red Sox are lacking in serious hitters right about now. Adrian Gonzalez and Carl Crawford were both traded away. Will Middlebrooks is out for the rest of the year -- and has been out -- thanks to a broken wrist suffered on a hit by pitch. David Ortiz seemed like he wouldn't be gone very long, but his Achilles injury has lingered, and he might not be back until 2013.
Thanks to the returns of players like Middlebrooks and Ortiz, Boston's 2013 lineup will be better than the current iteration without making a single roster move. More might need to be done, though, in order to get this team back to the kind of offense it's used to. Just what needs to be done is the question of the winter, though.
The latest Over the Monster video discusses this, and does so from new digs, as the old basement setting of the previous entries is no more. You'll find this video after the jump, or on the right sidebar of Over the Monster. As always, the rest of the videos can be found at our official YouTube channel.
