I understand that the Sox have a long and difficult road to the Wild Card Play-In Game, but they're playing better of late and there is always a chance, though slim, that they'll find their way into one of the two AL Wild Card slots.
And, if they do, they'll need a pitcher to start the game. Right now, selecting a Sox starter to pitch in a one-and-done game seems somewhat hopeless. Who on this team can you trust to start an all-important game?
Each pitcher has had their ups and downs this season. Each pitcher has their strengths and weaknesses. It's unlikely with only a few starts left of reach pitcher this season that they'll discover something new or completely fall off the map. They are pretty much who we think they are.
As a possible exercise in futility, I ask you, the fans: Who would you start in a winner-take-all AL Wild Card Game, assuming each pitcher is rested and ready to pitch?
