After bringing his trade stock up with a solid spring performance, Red Sox GM Ben Cherington has traded fifth-starter candidate Felix Doubron to the Chicago White Sox for rookie Addison Reed. Cherington plans to convert Reed into a starter, stating that "relievers obviously are the best choices for the back of our rotation you know? Like, Bard is going to be an ace and win twenty-five games, you'll see."
Manager Bobby Valentine refused to comment on the trade, but was heard mumbling something under his breath in regards to Cherington's parentage.
