It's been a few days, but the Red Sox will once again be on NESN as they take on the Pittsburgh Pirates in JetBlue Park.
After putting out a fair few terrible lineups in recent days due to split squad games and the general need to get everybody playing time, Bobby Valentine has taken pity on us and decided to put a pretty decent bunch out there for our viewing pleasure. Opening Day or, say, July 1st it's not, but the first seven at least seem likely to break camp with the major league squad.
Clay Buchholz will look to show some sharper fastball control today then he did in his first start back from injury. He walked two batters and hit another in that outing, so it won't take much to show improvement. David Ortiz, meanwhile, returns to his more comfortable position at DH, with Lars Anderson taking over at first despite having spent some time taking fly balls in left this spring. Josh Kroeger will fill in there.
You can see the game on NESN, as mentioned before, or listen in on WRKO if you're more of a radio person or don't have access. Be a shame to miss this one, though. That Sox - Pirates rivalry dates back 109 years, after all.
Go Sox!
