Brandon Webb Worth The Risk

I read today that the former cy-young award winner is throwing painlessly off the mound. He landed 3 million last year to take a chance in the Rangers rotation, could an incentive laden deal be worth offering to Webb to pitch in the Sox rotation.

Star-divide

I think Webb is definitely something to consider. He did place 2nd twice in the Cy Young, and won one too. He also has never handled the AL being a D'Backs lifetimer, but a heavy sinker is something that could mold well in any league and he doesn't give-up a lot of home runs. I just wanted to see what everyone on OverTheMonster thought of the potential in this move.

If he's really pain free, then we should go for it

but I’m not holding onto a lot of hope for him.

that was last season right?

before he had rotator cuff surgery? Because if he’s throwing 83 on flat ground in mid-february, give that man a major league contract.

definitely not on a major league contract

Because of the guy sitting on the dl all year is what keeps us from making a move at the deadline again everyone here will be talking about how stupid the Brandon Webb signing was

no thanks

waste of time, he is broken and he is never going to get it back. People love to dream on the old Cy Young Webb, that might just as well be an entirely different person because its not him anymore. If he wants to come and throw on a minor league deal fine take a look if you must, but if anyone guarantees him money again they are fools!
