Forget Felix, let's trade for Lincecum.

I'm a Giants fan. Well, they're my other team. They have been for as long as I've been a Sox fan. I don't know if it started because of Barry Bonds, or because of McCovey Cove, or because they wear Halloween colors. But I do know that that attachment has grown because of Tim Lincecum.

My earliest memories of the Red Sox are mainly of Pedro Martinez. He's like the Beatles of baseball. I didn't believe someone could be that good again until I saw Lincecum. Now I haven't compared the numbers or anything, but just watching him pitch, I see the same slingshot arm, skinny and wild looking but also with perfect control, and most importantly, being utterly better than the rest of the league.

Of course I'm talking mainly of the 08-09 Lincecum. He didn't fit that description this year. Not fully anyway. After an absolutely terrible first half, he had a much better second half, which is encouraging. Through all of it though, he never stopped looking like himself. The same blistering speed, the same over the top wrist flick like he's throwing darts. The only thing missing was results, and even those showed up at times (9.2 K/9).

He's continuing to look good in the playoffs now. He's owed 1 year and 22M. He's going to be 29. Is this going to get done or not?
