So, with an Edwin Jackson signing, Wolf emerges from the shadows and claims his victory...
I thought we’d never win it all. And then we went down 0-3 to the Yankees in 2004, and I thought it was the end of the world.

… my 2011 projections were so bad, I think I’ve only gotten one or two yellows so far.

Just realized that Wheeler signed with Cleveland, officially eliminating me.

But Miller is a FO pet project
They won’t trade him for anything, they’ll just keep blindly hammering away, not realizing he’s a broken prospect.

They won't trade him because they probably wouldn't even get a bag of balls for him.

Remember when we got that for Wily Mo Pena?
Those balls lasted a whole batting practice session.

I really had hopes Big Papi and Manny could teach him the strike zone.
He could absolutely crush the ball… remember watching him with the Reds at the Great American Ball Park… but man, what a swing and miss kind of guy.

I still remember the homerun that he hit at Fenway
that was out of the park like a freakin’ rocket, hit the Monster Seats, and then must have bounced two-thirds the way back to the infield. If it was 2 feet lower, it woulda killed a guy.

You want Wakefield you need Oswalt or Jackson

I'm not sure that's even true.
She needs Wakefield to win this silly contest, but all of us WANT & NEED Oswalt or Jackson for the team to win.

HA HA HA!
Just putting in perspective which is more important… Marisa’s W here, with Wakefield in our rotation… or Oswalt/Jackson in the rotation, and the Sox Ws this season.
No offense intended… I love the exercise and wish I’d done just a little better. I had a chance until we traded for Bailey, and saw Wheeler escape to Cleveland.
I thought we’d never win it all. And then we went down 0-3 to the Yankees in 2004, and I thought it was the end of the world.

yes that was my point

Oh, I know.
It’s all in good fun. We’re bored there’s nothing going on right now, and we’re all here awaiting the announcement of an Oswalt or a Jackson or a Floyd and really scared we’re going to get a Wakefield, for as much as I love what he’s done for the Sox.

I can still win!
All we gotta do is sign Oswalt, Tek and Wake and I’m good.
I might be physically sick if that happens, but I’d win.
So long as we actually got Oswalt
A Tek/Wake signing wouldn’t be so bad, unless they gave them major league deals and DFA’d Adrian and Pedey to do it.
Ha ha ha!
I was going to say… exactly, then I read the DFA’d and had to laugh.
I really don’t mind if Tek and Wake come back on ST invites, after all they’ve done for the Sox. However, the caveat there is that we sign a starter, and don’t DFA a valuable piece to “dump salary” in the process.
I thought we’d never win it all. And then we went down 0-3 to the Yankees in 2004, and I thought it was the end of the world.

With so many weird new pitchers showing up
It’d probably be useful to have Tek at ST to help process them all, as long as he understood his place, off the roster. It’s going to be a zoo.
It has occurred to me that if anyone wanted an inside view of training camp you could show up with pitchers and catchers and claim to be one of these new guys. I bet you could make it a good two weeks before being figured out. All you have to do is be able to pitch like crap.
can the knuckle ball you throw make up for it?

Joe Morgan:
I really like this deal, Zupic brings a lot of intangibles to the Red Sox. Not intangibles like Jeter though, and Robinson Cano is the best second baseman to ever play the game.

That eliminates you, doesn't it?
I’m surprised the eliminated list is so short. I think it’s probably longer by now.
I thought we’d never win it all. And then we went down 0-3 to the Yankees in 2004, and I thought it was the end of the world.

Quick glance says...
TLD
nuthinboutnuthin
Jake W
outofleftfield
Brandon C. (Cody Ross is making more than Kelly Shoppach, right?)
… should all join us on the eliminated list, unless I’m doing this wrong.
I thought we’d never win it all. And then we went down 0-3 to the Yankees in 2004, and I thought it was the end of the world.

Hence you weren't on my list, even though I think we all know it ain't happening.

Yeah, just wanted to drag a few more folks into the eliminated club with me.
That’s all… again, no serious criticism being leveled here, just a playful call out for the larger list of eliminated participants.
I thought we’d never win it all. And then we went down 0-3 to the Yankees in 2004, and I thought it was the end of the world.

This was a fun exercise, by the way.

Hope that isn't the move that knocks the Sox out too.
I mean, maybe we pull something off as a team fades from contention, or before the trade deadline, but I have a really hard time believing we’ll contend into October with the current rotation.
For all the folks that kept saying that it wasn’t even Spring Training yet… what say you now? If this is our rotation on Opening Day, who is happy with it?
