29 Trades, 29 Teams: Phillies
Red Sox Get: Kyle Kendrick
Phillies Get: Lars Anderson, Luis Exposito
The Red Sox have a big question mark in their starting rotation. Those question marks SO FAR have lead to the signings of Cook, Padilla, and Silva. The aquirement of Kendrick would bring great depth to the rotation. Last year Kendrick went 8-6 with an ERA of 3.22 in 34 games (15 starts). Kendricks had his ups with the Phillies and a change of senery would do him well.
Why is it good for for the Phillies? The Phillies will be without Howard for a while and Anderson might not be everything they hopefor but Anderson/thome/wigginton wouldnt be the worse 1B combonation. Anderson batted .265 with 14 homers and 78 RBIs. As well Ruiz isnt the best catcher around and with the Red Sox having good depth at the catcher spot we can spare at least one. Luis Exposito batted ,242 with 8 homers and 36 RBIs.

I like this trade for us, but I don't see how it really benefits the Phillies
Anderson isn’t really a great piece as you said, and Expo doesnt figure to be much special. He may even be “lucky” enough to slip through waivers if we DFA him.
Kendrick is great I think.
I see us giving up more in a Kendrick deal than these mediocre pieces.
The Red Sox suck, and I am the dirt that was sucked in, I am a dirty.
I'm narcissistic, nihilistic, and arrogant. That's me in a nutshell.

I can't see the Phillies taking two replacement level players for a serviceable pitcher.
John Lackey: Boston hates you
I'm rather "eh" on Kendrick
He possesed a 2.4 BB/9 and a 4.6 K/9, to go along with a .261 BABIP. If Kendrick could strike out more batters, I’d be fine with the deal, but as things are now, I don’t know.
Awesome O'Clock!!!
Yeah but for Lars and Expo?
Neither of whom probably have any future with this club? What else other than a capable #4-5 starter are they really going to bring?

I still really like Lars.
I think he’s underrated now.
